Thought For The Day

A Little Favoritism

I sometimes watch a few NBA games this time of year. I especially like to watch the Golden State Warriors in the NBA finals. They are headed there again this year and will play the Cleveland Cavaliers. I am going to catch all seven of the games. . .if there are seven.

The Warriors are not unaware that there will be that sticky little problem that occurs when any team is playing the Cavaliers. I am sure most people don’t notice. . .but being as how I am the ultimate authority on NBA Referees, NBA game announcers, NBA writers, and various other individuals and groups, I will fill you in. “Everyone” agrees: LeBron James is the greatest basketball player in the World. Well, let me postulate my opinion. I don’t agree that Mr. James is the best player in the World. I will continue to believe that he is given more accommodation on the court than any other player. He is even called, “King James.” In my HUMBLE opinion, he is allowed to get away with more fouls, more walks, more arguing, more anger, and more ugly looks than anyone else in the game. He manages to “get fouled” every time he literally runs over players, or shoves other players around with his massive body, and is the only player I see who can put the ball in one hand, and use the other to push a defender away when he is within striking distance of the net. . .and yet go uncharged.

Well, enough of that, right? But it reminds me that our Lord (Jesus Christ, the REAL KING) is the exact opposite as He provides the entirety of His llove, grace, favor, blessings, sufficiency, peace, joy, and abundant life (to name a few) equally for every Believer. Of course not all Believers experience the same level of God’s infinite llove because they refuse to receive His offer. or continue in disobedient behavior, nor remain pure via forgiveness both received and given, and invest in His wonderful family through Spirit led ministry.

I understand I am “comparing apples and oranges,” but it would seem “King James” is highly favored, while “lesser men” are allowed little latitude. God, treats all men equally.

I am sure Mr. James does not read Lloveletters, so my words will not offend him. That is a good thing. . .’cause he is BIG!
