Thought For The Day

Accountability

One of the words that we hear frequently is accountability. That is especially true in the political world, and particularly in Congress and the Presidency. There are at least a few folks in our Nation who are beginning to believe again that the promises one makes when running for elective office ought to be the platform on which they perform their actions.

I agree. Don’t tell me what you are going to do, if you are not going to actually do it.

God has experienced that problem considerably longer than our Nation (assuming, of course, that God can experience problems). Folks who come to faith in Christ Jesus, those who are redeemed by His blood, are recipients of His grace, and freed from the curse of sin, do so with an understanding that He is to be Lord of their life. Unfortunately, that is not the case in far too many lives.

Perhaps we need an additional understanding of the Biblical term LORD. Certainly, however, an understanding doesn’t always lead to a practical application of Truth.

I am convinced I have the right to expect my U. S. Congressional representative to keep his promise. I would expect no less from my brothers and sisters in the LORD.
