Thought For The Day

Alabama

Kay Ellen Ivey, Governor. Thank you, Governer!

The Alabama Senate passed a bill late Tuesday that would effectively ban abortion in the state, with no exceptions for rape or incest, prompting an outcry from abortion rights activists across the country and setting up a challenge to Roe v. Wade that could result in a Supreme Court battle.

The bill, whichthe Alabama House last month, would ban abortion at every stage of pregnancy, including exceptions only if the mother’s life is threatened. It also would make abortion a felony, and doctors could face up to 99 years in prison if convicted. (TIME)

Signed, the bill becomes Law. And, while it is a bill designed to ultimately take the issue to the Supreme Court, at least the Alabama Legislature, and now the Governor, have signed on for the journey.

The law does not take effect for six months, and undoubtedly a multitude of politically correct Federal Judges will do everything possible to make sure no unwanted child is left alive. The law will be declared “unConstitutional” and it will be more than a short time before it comes before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Meanwhile, the slaughter will continue. God will hold accountable all those who are thoughtlessly, continuously murdering the most innocent among us. But, we can be thankful for the progenitors of this bill and the Governor who had the courage to sign it into law. It is the first step (along with some other bills in other States) on a long journey.
