Thought For The Day

An Open Letter

(Editor’s Note) The man I work for, whom I affectionally call “the Preacher,” asked me to publish this letter here on “Lloveletters.” It is a word of encouragement he wrote a few years ago. You should, according to him, hear what he said.  (Christian West)

Jeanette,

I have worked with a multitude of people over the years of my ministry. Some have been a very good workers and the experience was almost always pleasant. The exact opposite is also true, and there were times when the ending of a work relationship was a relief.

I am thinking, from my perspective regarding those who concentrate their llove on children, I did not work as long with anyone else as I did you. Hence, I guess I had the most time to see who you are, and what you do.

That being said, I have no desire to speak flattering words, or make emotional comments. I wish only to deal with facts.

I have seen in you a dedication, a warmth, an insight, an inspiration, a commitment, yes, a LLOVE that is unsurpassed in my experience. Your llove for God is clear, evident, and enviable. Your dedication and llove for your family, Jason, Jase, Jake, Jorja, and Julia, is seeing  the role of wife, and motherhood, at it’s finest. Your devotion to Christ’s Bride, and those who make up the most difficult with which to work, the most difficult to understand, and the most persistently needy (our children), is impassioned.

If I were beginning again, in this World of ministry to the often reluctant children of God, both old and young, I would choose you to join me in that work.

Where I have failed in my attention to you, my support of you, my faithfulness in encouraging you, and a clear demonstration of my llove for you, in these years we have worked together, forgive me.

It is neither flattery nor hyperbole to say – “You’re the best!”

Llove,

Bill  (fellow struggler in developing a successful ministry in the eyes of our Father)
