Thought For The Day

Brevity

I don’t suppose anyone lays down in their bed and night and worries that before the morning light they will have been swallowed up by the Earth around them. Yet, that seems to be exactly what happened in Florida this past week. It reminds us again that life on this Earth is often brief, and even at its longest, is but a vapor that appears for while and is gone.

We are told a “sink hole” opened up (30 feet across and at least 100 feet deep) under a man’s house, and specifically under his bedroom, and his life was lost somewhere in the depths of that hole. Whether or not he was spiritually prepared for that eventuality, we do not know – but he is gone, and the mourning begins.

A reminder – we are not promised tomorrow. Settle the issues of your life today. Live each day as if there is no tomorrow. Pay your debts, consider your friends, llove your family, worry not at all, and live on the highest plane you can discover in the midst your circumstances.

Most importantly, satisfy the justice of God by accepting the grace that is yours in our Lord Jesus Christ. Tomorrow will come for most of us, but not for all. Today, while it is still possible, seek the Lord (He is seeking you) while He may be found, trust Him with your life, and live in the light of His presence with obedience and hope.

TODAY is the day of salvation.
