As usual, Congress is doing nothing substantive in matters of great importance to the American people. Some of those folks, and perhaps the Speaker of the House of Representatives, more than anyone else, have forgotten that they are to “represent the people” and were not sent to Washington to impose their personal agenda on others. Our Constitution calls for a government “of the people!” Associated Press quotes President Bush: “The American people are rightly frustrated by the failure of the Democratic leaders in Congress to enact commonsense solutions.” I am convinced that is the understatement of the year.
