Thought For The Day

Chosen

Associated Press, WASHINGTON – Hillary Rodham Clinton will end on Saturday her historic bid to become the first woman president but Barack Obama said he won’t be hurried into a decision on whether to make her his running mate.

It’s tough when one is not chosen, whether it is in the school yard for sand lot baseball, or as the Presidential candidate for your party. Now she may or may not be chosen for Vice-Presidential running mate. That may be another significant loss.

But there is real joy in knowing that we, each one of us, have been chosen by God. The Apostle Paul in his book to the Church at Rome tells us clearly that God has chosen to demonstrate “His llove toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” The Apostle Peter reminds us in his second book that God is not willing that “any one of us should perish, but that all of us should come to repentance.”

I may not be the chosen one in a multitude of areas, but I am the chosen one of God. What joy! What peace! What hope for today, tomorrow and the infinite future!
