Thought For The Day

Coming to a Church near you. . .

Sometimes it seems as if there is a bit of chaos around us. Watching the “protests” in Europe and the United States leads me to believe this sort of behavior may be on the rise. Is it anarchy?

The spirit of the times, whether in town-hall shoutfests or on the streets of Europe and North America, is infused with anarchy – and I mean nothing pejorative by that. “Anarchy” is now a synonym for chaos and wild-in-the-streets mayhem, but in the original Greek it simply means “without a leader.” Anarchism is not just the absence of government. It has a large body of theory behind it that emphasizes enlightened individualism, charity, voluntarism, and community. It envisions individuals being purely self-governed. That’s the theory, at least. (John Yemma, Editor, Christian Science Monitor)

I think that “theory” often works its way into the life of the Church. . . or the pseudo-church. It is decided by some that we really don’t need the leadership of the Spirit, rather, we can work out our own plan for “charity, voluntarism, and community.” It is a dangerous thing, that assisted by the Enemy, destroys what our Leader has designed and desires to empower.

Without the Leader leading, we are being led. . .astray.

Where will we go to escape? Where is the “New America”? I’m afraid that, as a Nation, we’ve failed God for the last time. We’d probably make the same ignorant mistakes on Mars!
