Thought For The Day

Complaints

Some friends and I have been complaining about having to wear a mask everywhere we go. It’s not that big a deal, and we just want this mess to be over so we can return to normal. There is a rumor that everything is going to be “shut down” again, and there will be a “stay at home” order from those who make such declarations. So the complaints get louder.

There is the possibility that the Church I attend might be on the list of those operations that are to close, or severely limit the number of attenders at any given service. That is a real bummer (to use a word from the 1960’s).

Theoretically that is a temporary option to be applied until the number of “cases” and subsequent deaths is significantly lowered, or a vaccine to end the virus is available. While that would be a terrible ordeal for those who are committed to the Church of Jesus Christ, and are focused on gathering to share life, Truth, joy, peace, and llove, it leaves open the reality that soon we will be able to return to our “normal” behavior.

On the other hand, we are only a National election or two away from the establishment of a Government that is anti-God, anti-Church, and anti-Christian. It is likely that we could be living in a Nation that has abandoned God completely, closed houses of Worship, and forbidden gathering for “Christian” purposes. NOTE: that is a reality in other Countries already. To think that we are light years away from such is, in my opinion, foolish.

Therefore, I am willing to do everything possible (almost) on my part to help with the reduction and eradication of this virus. I don’t want to wear a mask, skip Church services, stay at home away from my family and friends. But I ask myself the question –  will a bit of “foolishness” now (wearing masks and staying out of groups) help keep our Nation out of the hands of those who are determined to end this “Christian Nation” as we know it, and move toward Godlessness in a Socialistic society affecting all of life negatively then.

¥ep! It’s a conundrum. Now, if you are wondering what I am really thinking. . .”Even so, come Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)
