Thought For The Day

Constitutional

Sometimes things turn out right. . .at least for the time being. While we may argue and fight over the “right” of individuals and groups, the forefathers who wrote the Constitution anticipated that what they had experienced from government would always be the practice of government unless restrained by a set of rules that could not be changed at the whim of “times” or foolish politicians.

We have just learned that a federal judge in Texas has temporarily blocked President Obama’s requirement that boys be allowed to use girls restrooms in public schools across the country. Earlier this year, the Obama administration issued a directive “to U.S. public schools that transgender students must be allowed to use the bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their chosen gender identity.” U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor made his decision after Texas and 12 other states challenged the Obama administration’s unilateral move, calling it unconstitutional. (The Political Insider)

The President, nor any bureaucratic organization ruled by his administration, has the Constitutional power to change laws enacted by the Legislature representing the people of the United States, and to bully U. S public schools.* Evidently U. S. District Judge Reed O’Connor understands that Constitutional construct. Obviously many  people in our Nation, including the President, do not. He evidently saw this from the perspective of “Rule of Law,” as opposed to pandering to voting blocks.

I for one had thought, since there have been so many of these changes that should have been overturned, but were not, no one cared anymore.

Thanks, Judge O’Connor. May your tribe increase!

Now, before we get to excited. . .there is the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Some of those Justices are not to sure about the Constitution anymore. . .so keep praying that God’s men will stand up.

*Bullying: Either you follow the directive of the Administration or the Administration will take away your Federal funding for education.

Amen….I have not heard lately, but federal funding for schools is not very high. In the past I was told it mainly was for feeding programs.

And if it is more than minuscule,we are really getting a bad deal considering the taxes we pay (for all those fancy buildings, too many people at the top and way too little money for the teachers (and their benefits are the worst in the working world)).
