Thought For The Day

Diversity? Principle Needs a Definition Lesson!

I don’t have all the facts. I am willing to learn the facts, though I doubt that will happen, and not because I am not willing. I will be glad to meet with anyone who can give me correct facts.

A letter from the Principal of Keller High School was sent to parents of KHS students. It was his response to what occurred during a presentation (on Monday, this week) regarding “alleviation of stress in students’ lives.” Evidently the speaker, who we are told was subsequently fired from the Company he represented, for a few brief seconds spoke of his relationship to Jesus Christ (one would assume that would be his “stress” alleviator) during a hour long presentation.

As I read the letter, I was surprised how narrow the thinking, brought about by political correctness, has become in our society. A significant number of people want to utilize the word “diversity” without, in my opinion, an understanding of what the word means (and, remember, words mean things). Let me illustrate:

Please accept my personal apology for this unexpected incident. It is important for me to strongly reiterate the fact that, in Keller ISD an on the KHS campus. we unequivocally embrace diversity and are disappointed by the speaker’s lack of sensitivity and respect for all beliefs. We are a diverse community that recognizes and celebrates the rights and freedoms of all people.

Dr. Michael Nasra, Principal

I am extremely confident that thinking, logical, intelligent people would accept the fact that to “unequivocally embrace diversity”  would include welcoming Christianity. It appears this Principal does not know the definition of the word, or is not “embracing” what it means. Perhaps you will recall in my post on 3/31/15, I spoke about the discrimination perpetrated against Christians as if their particular “diversity” is unacceptable.

If this speaker was fired (relieved of his position?) for speaking of his Christian faith, that is the epitome of extreme prejudice which would engender massive protests were he a Muslim, Buddhist, or Taoist.

I am also surprised that a local Baptist Pastor would respond on Facebook with this comment: But how would you respond if he had taught another faith? I didn’t get the impression this was a “faith teaching” seminar, rather a speaker, in all probability, helping young students realize that, in his life, his faith alleviates stress. I know it does in mine. I would wager (if I were not a Believer) that if the speaker had spoken of “transcendental meditation” as the key, no one would have made a fuss. I could be wrong of course, but I doubt it.

The Truth is the enemy is destroying our Nation, piece by piece, student by student. Generally Christians remain passive. Thank God our SAVIOR did not.

Every Christian Parent and Student should disrupt the funding of the school for an extended period of time.

The author of confusion is at work and its minions are blindly following……
