Thought For The Day

Eating Food Will Kill You

If I have learned nothing else over the multitude of years that make up my life, I have learned that eating food will kill you. Sometimes I have tried to avoid that outcome by not eating for long periods of time (sometimes several  hours) to see if that might add a few days to my life expectancy.

Now here “they” come again:

People have long known French fries aren’t great for your health—but now a study has linked eating fried potatoes at least twice a week with an increased risk of death. The study, published in the “American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,” looked at potato consumption in 4,400 older people between ages 45 and 79 over the course of eight years. By the end of the study, 236 people had died.

It would be interesting to know. . .in any group of 4,400 people between the ages of 45 and 79, how many died over the course of eight years. But then, that is just my warped thinking.

In any case, since eating is going to kill all of us, one way or another (some people choke on French Fries), we best be prepared to meet the creator of potatoes. . .and us.

If you have never come to faith in Christ Jesus, I would llove to talk with you about that. Or, if I am not in your locale, find a Church where the Good News is  proclaimed, and our Lord Jesus Christ is offering His grace to those who will believe. Or, you can just read the Book, the Bible, God’s holy Word. Try John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10, 13. Or, better yet, read the Gospel according to John.

It won’t help with the French Fry thing, but it will tell you how to live forever in the House of the Lord. (see John 14:1ff)

    So, when the fast food worker ask, “Do you want fries with that?”, you should reply;
    “Are you trying to kill me?”
