Thought For The Day

Finished

Finally, the new building where I attend Church is essentially finished. A final inspection, a completed punch list, and by the coming weekend we should be ready to go. This week they moved the book shelves/cabinet/storage unit that was in our Pastor’s old office to it’s new home in his lush new office. His eyes light up every time he walks over to look at the progress.

As I have watched him, and others, since the first shovel of dirt was moved to start these two additions, there has been that glint of recognition that something “great” was happening. It’s the same eye sparkle I see in Believers when someone is born again and testifies through Baptism, when new folks in the community become part of the family, and when llove and genuine care for each other are on display.

Something “great” is happening at Shady Grove. It’s wonderful to get new classroom space, some “real” office space (as opposed to the two bedroom and closet they have been using), lots of storage areas, and an indoor AWANA square in the Children’s Worship Area. The new Youth Worship area is going to be really good for our kids.

But here’s the “great” part. It is clear that God is at work at Shady Grove. Yes, we get to participate in what He is doing. We get to enjoy the bounty, the joy, the peace, the hope, the wonder of seeing God at work. We “experience” the abundance that God has promised to provide for those who llove Him, and for those who llove one another. We are living in the light of His presence, and His Truth guides our way.

The Pastor says, “It’s all about our Lord. Enjoy what He he has done, what He is doing, and what He is going to do in the coming days. We can hardly wait.”
