Thought For The Day

Genuine Care

Our Nation is divided in so many ways. Perhaps the biggest division of the moment (it changes frequently) is regarding immigration, especially illegal immigration. The prominent media is attempting to change the language – using the word “migrant” instead of “illegal alien” in an attempt to distract the American public regarding the real issue – which is National security and sovereignty.

Migrant – nomad, itinerant, traveler, vagrant, transient, rover, wanderer, drifter.

Illegal alien – foreigner, nonnative, criminal (by action).

Be that as it may, there are protesting groups who are highly exercised about the problem, especially the plight of children (under teen age) who are caught up in this predicament.

One must understand the concern regarding the issue, of course, but it seems the same people (and political entities) have little to no demonstrated concern about the native children of America who are suffering the same issues. The numbers of children, homeless, hungry, ill-clothed, and suffering, and unable to escape danger of violence, are considerably greater in scope. These are children who have not been forced to commit a crime (by-in-large), but will be treated with much less compassion than those who have.

Should the resources which have been, and will be, utilized to care for illegal alien families be focused on the suffering children and families of America, it would go a long way toward making our Nation stronger, our work force more capable, and our society more productive.

My own experience would lead me to believe that some of the children I have met over the years  would, in a heartbeat, trade their squalid, hunger filled, transient, and dangerous life for one in an air-conditioned tent, with regular meals, a bed, a “space blanket,” and an opportunity for education, sports, and acceptance.

Is there a solution? Yes! That solution may not be our first choice, but if we don’t decide what is most important in life, our lives will be wasted by that which is uncontrolled.

America is dying. Ever so slowly it is almost as if most people fail to even notice. What we are leaving our next generation is something entirely beyond the imagination of those who have gone before. God, help those yet to come!
