Thought For The Day

Heavenly Music

I can’t tell you what the music of Heaven is going to be like, but I can imagine it will be a lot like Earthly music – except perfect. Everyone will have a voice like Andy or Don, or Dottie and Edi. There is always a bit of speculation regarding Gabriel and his trumpet – but I heard some music that won’t need much change.

One of our closest friends (actually she’s more a family member than friend) gave us tickets to the Bass Performance Hall this past Saturday evening. Kenny G was appearing with the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra. Since I have been listening to Kenny since 1982, I could hardly wait. The only thing I can say is – I was blown away. It was without a doubt one of the best couple of hours of my life. I’m not sure the music in Heaven will be any better than this incredible artist. If you don’t know, he is the most prolific instrumental artist in the world and has sold over 75,000,000 (that’s 75 million) albums.

He wow’ed the audience near the beginning of the concert by holding a single note for about six minutes. It just went on an on while he greeted people in the audience with his free hand, walked around the Hall, and shook hands with Orchestra members. What many people don’t know is that he can, and has, held a single note for over forty five (that’s 45) minutes.

I don’t know if Kenny is going to Heaven. He didn’t say. But I am more anxious than ever to hear the music of Heaven. If it is better, I just won’t be able to stand it.
