Thought For The Day

Here We Go

Sometimes things are not as clear as they need to be. It’s hard to drink tinged water, or cut away the mold from the bread before one toasts it for breakfast. In our society there are a multitude of opportunities for us to be concerned with the problems that confront us on every hand.

This Covid-19 pandemic is a good example. People get it and people die. People get lots of things and then die. Just how much of the information we see and hear is really clear and what are the consequences of not knowing? The vast majority don’t have it, and the vast majority of those who do don’t die. Do masks help mitigate being infected? Does washing one’s hands raw help? Does staying six feet away from the person next to you provide a safety measure worth the effort? Will there be a vaccine this year? Will it be safe? Will I be eligible to get it sooner. . .or will it be much later?

At this writing, “we the people” are wondering who is going to occupy the Oval Office in the White House come January? Will that person be legitimate or tainted by scandal regarding the election? It’s just not clear.

Will we need school classrooms any more? If kids and adults can learn as well at home as they do in huge buildings, can we do away with those buildings, busses, and school crossing guards? It’s just not clear.

One thing is clear. God’s Word. I have heard all my life about how “confusing” it is. We have a dozen or so (maybe more) denominations spouting some form of so called “truth” that is a centimeter away from all the other spouting and many people, if not most, are not sure what it is they are supposed to know. Fortunately for us the Word of God is abundantly clear. The only issue is that only those people who are “born again” and indwelled by the Holy Spirit of God can understand it, live it, share it, and know for certain what lies ahead. The down side is most people don’t know that, and most of us who do know that are not telling them with certainty and accuracy.

This post won’t make me popular. That is clear. But then, I am glad there is at least one thing about which I am perfectly clear. Let me know if I can help clear anything up for you!!
