Thought For The Day

Hug her, Your Honor!

When it appears that the whole World is bound and determined to dispose of any recognition of the Creator of all things, and even the so-called “Christian Nation” is driving the band wagon, it is a joy to see one public figure, a Dallas Judge, do what she believed was right. She WAS right!

In a Dallas court room, now empty of the jury and the case “closed,” the Judge spoke with the defendant. The defendant, convicted of murder would leave that courtroom, and within a brief period of time, be transported to Gatesville where she will classified, hassled, given the “run around,” moved from one place – room, cell, building, bus – to another, and magically transformed from being a recently fired Police Officer to being a felonious “number”  in a Texas Prison facility – sit down, shut up, be quiet, we’re not interested – one individual among the crowd of other “numbers.”

It will be a long while before anyone who lloves her, if anyone does, can see her, talk to her, write her (and expect her to get it), or send her anything (and expect her to get it). Eventually she will get “located,” and then maybe, just maybe, she will be allowed to have outside contacts.

But! And it is an important “but,” that Bible might, just might, make it through. It will be her lifeline for a while. She will read it – because there is nothing else to do, other than answer fast, move quickly, and wait, then wait some more.

Judge Kemp said that Guyger asked twice if she could hug her as well (referring to a hug from the brother of the man she was convicted of murdering) and, after a moment’s hesitation, the judge wrapped her arms around the former police officer.

“Following my own convictions, I could not refuse that woman a hug. I would not,” said Kemp, who is black. “And I don’t understand the anger. And I guess I could say if you profess religious beliefs and you are going to follow them, I would hope that they not be situational and limited to one race only.” (Online News)

Judge Kemp gave her that Bible. Thank you, Your Honor! May God richly bless your life.
