Thought For The Day

I Don’t Understand How This Works

Sometimes I get accused of being really dense. Once in a great while I believe it.

In a news story about the new “detention facility” being readied for up to 2,400 illegal immigrants just South of San Antonio, Texas, I saw this quote:

President Barack Obama’s recently announced, “This must be clear: Our borders are not open to illegal migration.” (Associated Press) This message was delivered as a part of his speech regarding Executive Orders protecting illegals already here.

Evidently, if we are preparing additional space to house illegal immigrants, the borders must be open to illegal migration. The narrative from AP seems to imply that the Administration is expecting another influx of women and children. The facilities that are being build appear from the description to be rather comfortable places – two bedroom cottages with a bathroom and (of course) “a flat screen TV.” Aren’t they all – I think they mean HDTV. In addition we are told that, unfortunately, they can’t cook in the cottages, so a 24 hour food service restaurant is also being constructed. I couldn’t find any place in the article which indicated how much the residents would be paying for these services. Surely, they don’t expect us (read: U. S.) to pay for it.

When is it that the protected immigrants will take the “millions” of jobs that are currently available but not filled? When will they begin to financially support the society that is providing them with housing, health care, education, food stamps (by whatever name it is called now), Social Security, and ultimately citizenship?

Now I understand this post sounds as if I am opposed to immigration. No, I am opposed to everything that is illegal. The Scripture tell me that I am to be so inclined. I am opposed to seeing so many American citizens who have worked almost all their life, and supported our Government with their taxes, realize that the system is broke and broken, and soon there will be nothing but economic collapse and frightening scenarios to fill our days.

But then, I am holding out hope that God’s patience with mankind is again reaching the point when He will intervene, and this time with a New Heaven and a New Earth (last time it was a flood, if you have forgotten). Even so, come Lord Jesus. (God’s Word)

Migration is His key word, He does not believe in any borders and as such humans (can) Migrate (that is the natural order of All animals).
We live in exciting times…even so, come Lord Jesus.
