Thought For The Day

Is It Just Me?

I have always tried to have some priorities in my life. I think wise people do. Being on time, all the time, has been a priority in my life. Sometimes I have failed, but that does not change my priority.

The Businesses I have managed over the years, and the Churches I have worked with, have always taken priority over my personal activities. For example, I believe officiating and/or attending a wedding for friends is of higher priority than taking a little vacation during their special days.

So does our Nation have sensible priorities? I wonder. Need an example?

The U.S. appointed its first-ever special envoy on Monday to defend and promote the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. The State Department named Randy Berry, a gay senior diplomat who previously served as U.S. consul general in the Netherlands, to the role, reports Reuters. “Defending and promoting the human rights of LGBT persons is at the core of our commitment to advancing human rights globally — the heart and conscience of our diplomacy,” U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said in a statement. When are we (read: U. S.) going to appoint an “envoy” to defend and promote “the human rights” of those who suffer the ongoing slaughter of millions of innocents in our society.

When are we going to appoint an “envoy” to defend and promote “the human rights” of Christians being slaughtered by ISIS around the World.

When are we going to appoint an “envoy” to defend and promote “the human rights” of little girls in Africa who are being raped, brutalized, and sold into slavery by terrorists groups like Boko Harum?

When are we going to appoint an “envoy”  to defend and promote “the human rights” of the oppressed people throughout the Middle East whose lives and history are being destroyed by Al Queda?

Certainly those things do not seem to be “the heart and conscience of our diplomacy” Mr. Kerry!

When God brings this Nation under his final judgment, there isn’t going to be a “single leg” for us to stand on. We have violated, and continue to violate, every command of Scripture – as if we are not the Nation most blessed by God throughout our entire history. Maybe we need an “envoy” to promote a National Day of repentance and faith in Christ.
