Thought For The Day

Isn’t It Time?

Now that we are running full speed downhill, and the vast array of supporters is growing by leaps and bounds, isn’t it time to dispose of all discrimination and “rules” related to our archaic history?

Food conglomerate General Mills, Nike, American Airlines and Facebook were set to sign onto anti-discrimination legislation known as the Equality Act, the companies said in statements obtained by TIME ahead of their release. The corporate giants, long supporters of gay rights, are joining peers Apple, Dow Chemicals and Levi Strauss in lobbying Congress for that legislation. (TIME)

I only have room to list a few places where extreme discrimination continues, so listen up – get ready, because here is where we are going next:

Polygamy – it is estimated 30-50,000 people live in “plural families.” It is still illegal. That has to change.

Marriageable Age Restriction – lots of little girls and boys wish to marry when they are pre-teen. Must we forever forbid such love? We must stop this insane mindset that doesn’t embrace marriage at any age and for any “couple” or “group” that chooses.

Dress Codes – from Middle School to Corporate America to everyday trips to the beach, we must stop telling people what to wear or not wear while criminalizing human bodies. We demean women especially, by demanding they dress in ways not required of men.

Sex Offenders – When will we stop the practice of registering and monitor those individuals who have made a “mistake” with their sexuality. Made to “live in the shadows,” they are segregated from society. It must end.

Teacher-Student “love” affairs – How long must we punish the behaviors of love which are based simply on career choice (employment) and a perceived vulnerability?

We are moving toward a society based on a long standing principle in this World – every man/woman for himself/herself.

Good Luck!
