Thought For The Day

It’s Not That Hard

In Luke 19:40, Jesus said (paraphrase), “If you won’t, they will.” Well, I don’t usually use paraphrase in dealing with Scripture,  but I hope it will drive you to read these verses from Luke – 19:37-40.

Over the last couple of weeks I have had the opportunity to see some really big rocks. My bride, my best friend, and I were traveling through the “outback” of Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. If there is one thing we saw, it was rocks. Actually this planet is a big rock, well sorta, and I know a lot of people who never praise the Creator, and a lot of the Creator’s children are not quick to “praise Him” with “joyful and loud voices” (see verse 37). We, as God’s children often tend toward quietness (I do recognize those folks who get “loud and wild” in some worship venues) and sing and pray with quiet reverence (also a great need).

As I think back about the beauty of the rocks, many of which have great names, I believe I could almost hear them praising our Heavenly Father with the winds and the magnificent beauty and uniqueness of each one. “Balancing Rock” in Arches National Park stood in the morning sunlight reaching skyward with a perceived voice and beauty that spoke clearly to the handiwork of its Creator. The “Temples” in the overlook from the North Rim of Grand Canyon spoke with a clear witness to the incredible wonder of God’s creative art. I could go on. . .but you kinda have to be there. I am amazed by the beauty of the rocks that inhabit most of my little piece of Earth. I often sit or stand on them and thank God for such a myriad of gifts.

So. . .never hesitate to raise your praise to our wonderful Father who gave us such beauty in which to live, and grace to make us fit for Heaven. Shout out to Him with joy and volume – at least once in a while.
