It’s Over
By the time you read this the Mid-Term elections will be over, and probably, for the most part, you will know who won and who didn’t. How do you feel? LOL (to use a text term).
I have talked to a lot of people who have been beside themselves that their candidate or candidates might not win. All I can say is, either you did get your wish or you didn’t, unless there is run-off coming, and you will have to agonize until that happens – probably in December. In a couple of years we will do it all over again.
Of course, like you, I had some folks I wanted to see stay in Washington and Austin and local spots around the County, and I probably won some and lost some (I am writing this on Election Eve) just like you.
But I am not going to get too excited either way. Some people I picked will disappoint me (if they won), and some I didn’t want to win will make me angry and fretful (if they won), but here is the bottom line: God is still in charge.
Scripture tells us that no one comes to “power” except by the hand of God. I am confident that our Father is providing us with the leadership we deserve. That may be good for us, or hard on us, but He chooses that. Everything on this Earth answers to Him and His will. . .period, paragraph!
Regardless of who wins/won we need to pray more. We need to trust God more fully. We need to walk worthy of our calling in this World. We need to recognize that this World is not His Kingdom nor is it our Home. Focus you attention on Heavenly things, obey the laws of the Government, sing more happy songs, stay in touch with your political representatives and let them know you know what they are doing – good or bad. Get heavily involved in a local Body of Believers, and spend time in God’s Word daily, praying all the while.
I am convinced this World is on the slippery slope that ends in destruction. This Nation is far from God, far from repentance, far from being peaceful and lloving. He told us it would always be so. We have taken another step -maybe you like it, maybe you don’t. Either way, listen! Listen! God Rules and Reigns. Believe it!!
