Thought For The Day

Just Stop It!

The United States Government (or some subset of that general category) evidently does not understand the fundamental principle that leads to the name “evangelical Christian.” Bible believing Christians who belong to “evangelical” Churches (and other Believers who don’t necessarily belong to evangelical Churches) understand that the Biblical “calling” of one to discipleship commands a “sharing” of The Faith. (See Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8). Believers can’t “just stop it.” It would seem to me that the following information and its introduction into law, would be a violation of the Constitution (i.e. Bill of Rights) of the United States of America.

The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis…”. The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith. So President Barack Obama’s civilian appointees who lead the Pentagon are confirming that the military will make it a crime–possibly resulting in imprisonment–for those in uniform to share their faith. (Breitbart)

And so, as anticipated by this writer yesterday – persecution of Christians begins. . .or continues, however one may see persecution. Our Government is quick to condemn any words, writings, thoughts – if possible, that in any shape, matter, or form, infringes on any “religion” (of course, Christianity is not a religion) except Christianity. Believers can be maligned, harassed, libeled, criticized, condemned, and “made sport” with absolutely no sanctions of any kind.

This World and its Governments might want to re-think. Should God decide to come for His Bride, thereby ending His patience and grace (2 Peter 3:9), the remainder of mankind will not fare well.

Thanks dp –
