Thought For The Day

Know the Truth

God has given us (Believers) the command and the ability (under the leadership of His indwelling Spirit) to know the TRUTH. So many people, especially those in Government, want to make up their own “truth” and bully folks into believing their concept is what God has designed.

Here are two examples:

(BOSTON) — A Massachusetts judge was indicted Thursday on charges that she helped a man who was living in the U.S. illegally evade an immigration agent by sneaking out the back door of a courthouse. (TIME)

Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot is clarifying his new policy not to prosecute theft of what he called “necessary items” under $750. Creuzot told WBAP’s ‘Rick Roberts Show’ Tuesday that the policy only applies to people stealing to survive, not someone who plans to re-sell stolen items,  and in addition, he plans to forego prosecuting some weed and some other low-level offenses. It is often said and heard that such activities are justified by Scripture. Caring for the poor and needy, and accepting strangers, and those who are “persecuted” for one reason or another, are the very ones we are to find a place for in our society, our homes, and our hearts. However, the forgotten Truth is rather simple: Romans 13:1-7 is not ambiguous. Succinctly summarized one might understand, “Obey the law.”

Ephesians 4:28 says, Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Government can make any laws they wish, and society will obey them. . .or they won’t. But God’s Truth is not malleable to our tastes. It is clear, perfect, and right.
