Later

I read that there is an increased level of items, both large and small, washing up on West Coast beaches. They appear to be part of the debris from the tsunami three years ago in Japan. It seems a long time – and a long way – between the event and the result.

I was thinking how much that is like the Word of God. Sometimes those things we learned from God’s Word when we were children or young adults come to fruition in our minds many years later. We find ourself in a situation or circumstance that need an influx of Truth – and there it is, coming to mind at just the right moment.

I am sure that is one of God’s wonderful promises to His children. His Word will always accomplish its purpose. When we most need Him the Spirit will bring to mind what we need for that moment.

The Word comes sometimes from “way back” in our life. Pity those who were not raised in the nurture of God’s Word. Of course, if you’re planning to live tomorrow, and on beyond that, it’s not to late to get God’s Word in your heart and mind.
