Learning Again

This last few days has been a reminder for me of how blessed we are as citizens of the United States of America. Driving through property stricken areas, walking among illiterate and untrained individuals, and getting close to some of the poorer, unrepresented people of this World, is always, for me, an opportunity for self-examination.

So much that we have in our beloved Nation is unknown to so many in other places around the World. Reliable services like clean, running water, electricity, garbage collection, and such, are just “there” for us. And while I know that there are poor people in the United States, and some  do not have much access to “necessities,” there is always the possibility of an available hope that one day they can. Not so in so many places around the World.

If our leadership (read: Government) continues to evolves like the Government in some places around the World, it won’t be long before we too will become a “third World” nation. America is prosperous because wise men and women in centuries past understood the reality of “good men” (and women) being elected to office. The more our Representatives move toward the mindset of self aggrandizement, rather than keeping America strong by focusing on what is “best for all,” the more we move toward becoming like those Nations whose leaders are fully focused on themselves rather than those they serve.

Our Nation has made the first step(s) toward “failure to thrive” by abandoning the Truth. The vile nature of abortion, illicit drugs, obsession with personal wealth, selfishness, and ignorance of history, will ultimately destroy everything that has been gained since the first travelers began to populate this land which would become our Nation.

It is easy to close our eyes, cover our ears, ignore the truth. Please. Don’t!
