Thought For The Day

Let’s Be Clear

It’s a muddy, muddled World out there. Confusion regarding morality, relationships, and life practice, is rife. For each of us there are multiple voices, both public and private, and the air is filled with prattle regarding how one should live in this society filled with perpetual change.

Only one TRUTH remains. One place to see that TRUTH is in Psalm 19:8b: “. . .the command of the Lord is clear, making the eyes light up.”

The revelation of God to His people (the Scripture), in part, consists of commands regarding the practice of a Believer. Commands are authoritative and binding. The only option (if indeed it is an option) is disobedience.

And, while that may appear discouraging to some, one magnificent component of that message is that His commands are always crystal clear (comprehensibleintelligibleplainuncomplicatedexplicitlucidcoherent,                                                                simplestraightforwardunambiguousclear-cut). We (Believers) never have to wander in the darkness of this World’s so-called wisdom, be confused about what God requires, or depend on human ingenuity to create some alternative insight which is always ordinary foolishness.

And, there is a second magnificent understanding in this message, in that our eyes, when we are obedient to His commands, are filled with light and life that is clearly visible to those around us. As a teacher I have often seen that light in the eyes of a child, a teen-ager, a young adult, when they finally “see” the solution to a problem, or understand for the first time a concept with which they have struggled. It is that very light we can see when an individual comprehends the TRUTH and understands the value that TRUTH brings to one’s life practice.

Need a sample? Watch the eyes of your child when they see you have given them the gift they hoped for, longed for, begged for, and now, because of your llove, possess. So it is with the Children of God (Believers) when we understand the Word of God, embrace the TRUTH of God, and discover the infinite majesty of His grace and mercy and constant care. . .which is His  llove for each of us.
