Thought For The Day

Living Right

Ever wonder if you are “living right?” Or perhaps, you are more concerned about your neighbor, or a family member. While you can never live another person’s life for them, perhaps they can take “suggestions” from yours.

The trait we so desperately need in greater abundance in our society is integrity. In a definition on the “web,” integrity has to do with “perceived consistency of actions, values, methods, measure, principle, expectations and outcome. . . .”

From the Word of God, Psalm 15 gives the following traits to define a person of integrity:

Walks uprightly, works righteousness, speaks the Truth, does not backbite, does no evil to a neighbor, does not take up a reproach against a friend, honors those who fear the Lord – not the unGodly, keeps one’s word – even if it is costly, does not practice usury, does not take bribes. (Psalm 15, revised Lloveletters version)

Over and over the book of Psalms reminds us that what ultimately matters to God is the quality of our character. Are you willing to pursue ethical decision-making and Godly behavior?

Doing so allows one to “live right.”
