Thought For The Day

Mostly Peaceful** (see Editor’s Note)

Editor’s Note: This is not a lloveletter. Dr. West reserves the right to write an “editorial” on occasion, and this is that occasion. It is suggested that you delete this editorial before reading it if you are unfamiliar with controversial statements. Thank you.

I was watching a montage of the violence occurring in Cities and Towns here in America. While fires were burning, stores were being looted, people were being injured and killed, protesters were sparing with Law Enforcement personnel to the point of needing emergency medical treatment, the pictures and voices of some of America’s political “leaders” were playing over and over in the background saying – “the protests are mostly peaceful,” the protests are mostly peaceful.”

Regarding the families of those who have been murdered in the “protests,” the business owners who have lost their businesses to fire and physical destruction, the workers who have no place to work, the Police who are often struggling with mobs of violent “protesters” only to find themselves injured, or charged with a crime of one sort or another, Church members who have no place to Worship because the building in which they meet was burned to the ground, Patriots who watch the destruction of historical memorabilia along with statues of brave and revered men whose descendants are still part of the American fabric, razed and/or consigned to storage, are we to assume they are comfortable with “mostly peaceful.” Does the family of anyone murdered in “protests” not suffer unbearable pain even though the protests were “mostly peaceful?

What is “mostly peaceful?” Why would anyone who has an iota of brain power speak of such a thing in light of the warfare in the streets of America. We are a Nation of Laws. We are a Nation of people who value peace above changes in Government, above individual or collective redress for actual wrongs, above personal vendettas, above self-seeking individuals or parties of individualortrs who seek to destroy our American freedoms, heritage, or way of life for personal satisfaction. We are designed to be the Nation that “keeps the peace” above all else.

Americans are, by-in-large, peaceful, hard working, law abiding, America loving, citizens of the greatest Nation ever to exist on Earth. Now we are invited to embrace those who are “mostly  peaceful” – but given to a bit of looting, burning, murdering, destroying property that belongs to others, and our collective property, violating the Law at will, denying  the authority of those duly charged with keeping the peace, and demanding that we accept that as their “right.”

I won’t attend or support a Church where one hears “mostly Truth.”

I won’t have brain surgery in a “mostly sterile surgical suite,” performed by a Surgeon who is “mostly knowledgeable” regarding brain surgery!

I won’t take a Boeing 747 to New York that is being flown by a “mostly certified” pilot!

I won’t accept “mostly peaceful” protests! When it is not absolutely peaceful – put ’em in jail!
