Thought For The Day

Mud Run

I agreed to participate in another Mud Run. Truth is, I don’t like mud. Mud Runs are not really “runs,” rather, they are slow-moving operations with a varying degree of difficult tasks that get one all dirty and wet. Sometimes I wonder who thought up this process in the first place. Of course, anyway to “make money” is the creator of such things. But I will do it, I will enjoy my friends, and I will pretend to have a great time. (Don’t let any of my friends see this post, please)

Sometimes some Churches are like a mud run. On those Sundays Church is anything other than Worship and Spiritual Growth (which is what it is supposed to be). It is not unusual for the services to be slow-moving and difficult to endure. Obstacles are impossible for some, and often difficult for others. And with all the gossip and “bad-mouthing” (mud-slinging) everyone gets dirty.

Of course I continue to do it (Church, that is). I enjoy my friends, and often have a great time with God. . .and most times His people.

There is a solution for the Church. Get rid of the mud. Streamline the course (on the way to maturity in the faith). Keep obstacles (that’s life), but make sure everyone can accomplish them with success because of superior training and support. Build better friendships (learning to llove one another), and help everybody win in the end.

That I can get into!
