Thought For The Day

New Day

Watching the  sun rise this morning out of the darkness and over the forest that surrounds my home, I was reminded that every day is a new day with possibilities and adventures and interesting things to discover. I remind myself that there are no ordinary days if we are alert, prepared, believing that each day is a blessing from our Father.

A multitude of people who saw yesterday will not see today. I know that is not a pleasant thought, but it is a reality that each of us must face. . .regardless of our age, our health, our station in life. I am guilty of spending a few minutes each morning of reviewing the “news” of yesterday and the previous night. There are so many things going on in our World, city or town, our neighborhood, and our families. I want to know. I want to care. I want to explore the possibilities that our Father is providing opportunities for me, for each of us, to share our life, our faith, our llove, our calling, with those around us.

No ordinary days! It is easy to get caught up in the simplistic thought that “I do the same thing everyday.” And, in some respects that may very well be true. We greet the family, grab a bite to eat, head off to work driving the same route every day, enter the same building or yard or field, and carry out the same routine with whatever variations there may be. All of life becomes a scheduled, patterned formula. It is not so if we look for the intervention of God.

I want to encourage you to see each day as an opportunity, an adventure, and make an attempt to discover what our Father might have in store for you. Maybe it will be a very small thing. . .or a very large thing. Perhaps you will recognize the uniqueness of this day. . .in some form or measure. It certainly won’t hurt to try. Take a look. Enjoy! It’s a new day!
