Thought For The Day

News?

The survey is in. The number of people identifying as “Christians” is down considerably in the last few years. It is especially so among the youngest adults. While there are almost innumerable idea about what it means to be a Christian, the reality is that there are fewer people who even “think” they are Christians. The stats show that fewer and fewer people each year are embracing even the “easiest” of definitions. That, of course, would tend to make us think that genuine, selfless, sacrificial, Biblical Worldview oriented, obedient to Truth Believers are indeed a smaller group, considering their percentage in the population, than they have ever been before.

It’s no wonder. The Church (God’s family of the Redeemed) grows weaker by the week. Distracted, discouraged, desperate family members abandon all llove for the family, avoid contact on a regular basis, and fail to maintain an intimacy with Christ driven by the leadership of God’s Spirit.

It is the pinnacle of misunderstand to believe that God doesn’t notice or care. Some have become so far removed from His presence they no longer demonstrate any characteristics of likeness to Christ. (See 2 Timothy 3:1-5)

History reminds us that it is that very issue that serves as a prelude to judgment.

Just saying!

Sometimes I wonder if the number of Christians is changing or the number is constant and the tag-along Folks are leaving because the Cross is becoming more and more an offense to them.
