One More Step

Perhaps it is only fifty steps to the final fall from the cliff to God’s judgment. It could be more or less. We won’t know until we get there.

I have been disappointed in the President of the United States and his stand for legalization of homosexual marriage. He is continuing to press forward as we heard on Sunday.

But this week, he took it one giant step further. According to The Chicago-Sun Times, the president urged lawmakers in his home state of Illinois to legalize marriage equality. The state’s General Assembly is set to vote on the issue in the coming week. If Illinois legalizes same-sex marriage this week, it will become the fourth state this year to do so, joining Maine, Maryland and Washington. (Yahoo News)

Forty-six steps to go? Who knows, but here is the saddest new of all:

The Midwestern state may have its share of conservatives, but it also has a strong foundation of  religious officials willing to publicly support gay marriage legalization. 260 of them sent a letter to the state legislature last week, urging lawmakers to “grant equal opportunities and responsibilities to loving, committed same-sex couples.” (IBID.)

One of two things is True. Either these “officials” are not Christian Believers, or they have chosen to abandon the clear, simple TRUTH of God’s Word.

I hope for Christ’s return before God’s judgment falls on this Nation. Millions of murders of innocent human beings in the womb, and the abomination of unGodly sexual behavior will move us with each rebellious step toward the judgment of God.
