Thought For The Day

Our Christian Nation

I trust you will understand this ‘LLOVELETTER’ is not a political piece, but the burden on my heart demands that I stand for Truth in every area of life.

Multitudes of  people have long spoken of how our “Christian Nation” is no longer Christian. And while I am not sure it ever was, there is no doubt in my mind that  50-70 year ago, many things pointed to a desire for it to be so. It was little things, really. Not so much what Congress or the White House was doing, but, rather, we prayed and read the Bible in public schools. Most businesses closed on Sunday. Baseball  practice didn’t happen on Wednesday night or Sunday. TV, while never “good for  us,” was not, by in large, the cesspool it is now. Churches followed Biblical practices, and Preachers were Godly men, mostly poor, committed to Truth, and unconcerned about building an empire of followers and wealth. I understand that was a young man’s vision, but it was reality to a great degree. It was easy to believe (though probably wrong) the United States was a “Christian” Nation.

The realities of 2020 destroy any notion of such. If one is not a supporter of President Trump, the choices (looking at the limited first delegate count for the next election, highly subject to change) we see a Socialist, and a very young (38) homosexual ex-Mayor leading the opposition. Congress is a  shambles of infighting and ignorance. Our Nation allows the murdering of  the most innocent among us at a record pace, and only the ignorant can believe we are not moving toward genocide. TV is nearly unwatchable if one is not intellectually challenged or desirous of filling one’s mind with filth. Many “Churches” have become  performance centers with those presenting the best shows filling the seats. Vast “christian” empires built on money stolen from millions of faithful followers fill the airways with little other than the money grab.

Remember when popular music was “pretty,” and understandable? Remember when riots were rare, murders and mayhem were seldom the “lead story.” Persons entering the United States needed a reason to come, and some papers to make it happen. Pick-up trucks sported a rifle in the gun rack while parked at the High School. Public “sin” was seldom tolerated, and marriage was a sacred contract that lasted a lifetime.

Perhaps these are the waning days of the World as we know it. Christ may be about to visually enter the equation. Or, perhaps God is about to let this Nation fail, enter our classification as a “Third World country, and suffering and death will prevail. I would be lying if I told you I know the future of the United States of America. But I do know mankind is not in charge. We are not at the controls. Disobedience has its reward.

Is there no hope? Of course not!! Christ is our hope!! He is still redeeming mankind and bringing peace and Godliness into lives on a regular basis. My counsel is to Get Ready! Tomorrow is a new day, good or bad, but without Him within, we are lost.

You couldn’t have said it any better than thaT. i believe our “Christian” nation HAS BECOME SO COMFORTABLE WITH THE SLIGHT CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE THROUGH THE YEARS, THAT THEY NOW, ARE THE NEW NORM. I THINK THOSE CHANGES ARE SO VERY FAR FROM GOD’S DESIGN FOR US AS AN INDIVIDUAL, AND AS A COUNTRY. JUST MY OPINION.
