Thought For The Day

Plans

Some people are planners. They work through every detail, envision each scenario, develop alternatives, and most, if the truth be known, are terribly upset when their plans go awry. Others, spend little if any time planning, and might be accused of “going with the flow.”

Which is better? That is a long discussion. I am struck by the Scriptural Truth that God knows His plan for us. If indeed, we are His slaves, committed to His leadership, and following the direction in which His Spirit moves, perhaps we could completely forgo that upset which comes when plans change, morph, or fail.

I would like to think I make plans, at least occasional, which are effective and competent. The real Truth is, however, I am often content to follow, without a lot of concern, the “flow” of His Spirit from day to day. The key to success in this matter is to know the still, small voice deep inside our hearts. That is a practiced undertaking.

You are probably experiencing some change in your life – circumstances, situations, relationships, plans, goals – and it is, as always, a bit unsettling. Fear not. Lean on God’s Spirit. Trust and obey. God has a wonderful plan for you – give yourself completely to it.
