Thought For The Day

Praise Where Praise Belongs

The Church gathered in Worship is a beautiful thing – especially when they are praising our Lord Jesus Christ. But that is not the only praise that should come from the Body. While it is first and foremost, praise for people who give what they have, do what they can, and offer their best not only to the Lord God, but to each of us who attend the gathering, is praiseworthy.

This morning, in the Church I occasionally attend, the Choir  presented their Christmas music. It is a small choir, and some of the singers are not the most talented people in the World, but they have worked long and hard to serve God and thereby earn the praise of people like me who don’t see choir as our place of service, and aren’t, by far, the best singers in any group.

I was so pleased that the music they presented was well done, clearly proclaimed the Truth of Christmas, and the people involved in the presentation were happy to be able to do their part in making our Worship experience a happy, bright, holy experience.

Good leadership is vital – and they have that. A llove for good music is required and they have that. Commitment to task, and a willingness to work hard is mandatory, and they did commit and work. And so, I praise them. Well done! Good job! I was blessed and joyful to have been present.

But best of all, I believe our Lord is pleased. That is the realization of our greatest joy in life – pleasing Him.
