Thought For The Day

Responsibility

Ultimately, when humans lives are being lost to death which is brought about through negligence or by specific purpose, someone(s) must take responsibility. In many cases that responsibility falls on the failure of Government to act appropriately.

(MISSION, Texas) — Four people, including three children, found dead in South Texas near the border with Mexico likely died of dehydration and heat exposure after crossing the Rio Grande into the U.S., authorities said Monday.

A law enforcement official close to the investigation told The Associated Press the four were overcome by the heat and foul play is not suspected. Hidalgo County sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Medrano said earlier that the bodies of a woman in her early 20s, a toddler and two infants were found in or near Anzalduas Park, which borders the river in the city of Mission. (TIME)

Congress is refusing to admit that there is a “crisis” at the Southern border of the United States. Then, waste time and resources to “blame” some ONE, rather than inputting into the issue the intelligence, effort, and resources necessary to manage or eliminate the “crisis.” Such is the case here,  and it is he proverbial “tip of the iceberg.”

Entry into sovereign Nations should be open (allowing any and all comers to enter without any hindrance, which appears to be the current policy) or closed to all except those who apply for entry while remaining in the Country they wish to depart, and following the explicit guidelines for such entry.  When closed, every effort should me made to inform the “World” that entry will not be tolerated and a violation of crossing a closed border bring immediate return to the Country of origin, or prison in the Country violated. Providing access, “rights,” housing, food, Attorneys, support, benefits of any kind, and a “path toward citizenship,” is the draw that brings about tragedies, i. e. as seen in the above account, and countless others of all colors and sorts.

The death of the woman and three very young children (as reported by TIME) is a result of the lethargy of Congress to deal with this issue, and the American public for allowing the individual members of Congress to remain in those positions while wreaking havoc on our society as well as that of other Countries.
