Thought For The Day

Seriously?

One would think that as long as the Scripture has been proclaimed in these United States of America everyone would know the Truth. Obviously that is far from the reality, but one would then assume that those who claim to be spokespersons for God would be well acquainted with the Truth. But, as you well know, that is a fallacy also.

It must be difficult to not have a job, and find one’s self having to find a conflict, a problem, a division of one sort or the other, and then exploit that situation only to find that one’s actions are, at best, untenable.

Such is the lot of men like Jesse Jackson, the Reverend. Without enough racial conflict to go around, he has chosen to take up the mantle of support for Syrian refugees. His basis for doing so would naturally fall into the category of immorality vs. morality.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson has a message for Gov. Rick Snyder [Governor of Michigan]: You’re wrong to pull back the welcome mat for Syrian refugees — wrong legally and morally. (TIME)

I won’t argue the legal position. I don’t think there is one.

I won’t argue the moral position. I don’t think there is one regarding this particular issue of whether or not Syrian refugees should be relocated to the United States.

I will argue with his (Rev. Jackson) position on what makes it immoral/moral.

And from a moral standpoint, Christians understand that Jesus was a refugee, himself — forced from Jerusalem by a leader that feared him, Jackson said, speaking to about three dozen people at the Arab-American Civil Rights League. (IBID.)

How was Jesus a refugee? He was born just outside Jerusalem (Bethlehem), and died just outside the city of Jerusalem (Golgotha/Calvary). During his incarnation in human flesh, no one ever forced him to or from anything. He went wherever He chose, said whatever He heard from His Father, and spoke without hesitation the Truth with clarity and accuracy. He went to Jerusalem (at the end of His Earthly ministry) for one purpose. He accomplished that purpose, and certainly not by the force of any antagonist, but by freely giving Himself a ransom for His own people (Israel), and for all peoples of the World who would believe His message of grace through faith in God.

(You can read that narrative in the Bible [i.e. The Gospels], Rev. Jackson.)

Perhaps Rev. Jackson should spend less time lecturing Americans about the “morality” of accepting un-vetted refugees, thereby putting all American citizens in ever increasing danger, and instead lecture the “armies of evil” who are creating all these refugees with their vicious, murderous, war-mongering immorality.

Just saying. . .
