Thought For The Day

Severe Weather

As I sit writing on Saturday evening, the TV Weather forecasts are playing out in my hearing. By the time you read this on Sunday (or later) this particular batch of severe storms will be past this area where I live and write. I think it is always wise to keep an eye on what is happening from a storm perspective, and one should always be ready to seek shelter appropriate for the situation.

I have seen some tough weather over the course of my life. I have spent most of my life in “tornado alley,” and had a couple of cars totaled by hail. New roofs are a part of my history as well. It’s never good when the winds are screaming and one can hear and see the damage almost instantly with today’s technology.

But let me remind you. Our Father is, and has always been, in charge of the weather. The systems that rotate through our communities and lives are never without His knowledge and control. Hence, I never worry about the outcome. If damage and/or destruction are a part, so be it. If He chooses to end my days here – what is coming is so much greater and more marvelous than can be spoken or dreamed.

Be careful. Know what to do and when to do it. Stay safe! But don’t worry, stress, or foolishly think God is not in control. He always is – and He always know what is best for those He lloves most.

Amen. The destruction of storms to property vs the low loss of life has always been an indicator of the Grace you describe.
