Thought For The Day

Stick to the Script

Those “hearings” (there was a lot of talking and precious little hearing) with Robert Mueller are over. I watched a couple of hours of the seven hour ordeal. Truth be known, I was quite shocked with Mr. Mueller. He often seemed confused, uncertain, and disoriented. The whole process was not about him or his report, however, it was about Congress members creating doubt in the minds of any American who might be watching that the report is somehow going to change politics in the United States.

Mr. Mueller, as advertised, pretty much stuck with the script, and refused to speak to the issues that were not part of the report. In the end he did agree that President Trump is a hard man to figure out. But then, aren’t we all.

I wish “preachers” would stick to the script. The Word of God (the Bible) is a clear and complete revelation of everything God wants us to know and understand. It comes with an internal (in  us) Guide who enlightens, confirms, and guards the Truth contained therein. For one reason or another, many “proclaimers” of that Word have a tendency to “make up stuff,” “be creative,” or just plain misinterpret the Truth. Those are dangerous activities, and one who would know the Truth must be ever alert to God’s Spirit – the true Guide into God’s design and purpose.

Nothing is more important than knowing the Truth. That Truth fills our lives with peace, hope, certainty, confidence, power, and victory. Men can never improve it, change it, or damage it. But a lot of minds are warped by that which men say and do which does not conform to Scripture. Knowing the Truth is not difficult – time consuming, yes, demanding, yes, believing, yes.

Stick to the script. It is Good, and good for you!
