Thought For The Day

Thanksgiving is Over

Sometimes it seems that “Thanksgiving is Over” is the tack taken by many, if not most, people once that “day” is ended.  The turkey is boiling on it’s way to becoming “Turkey Carcass” soup, and all the other foods are being stored for feasting later in the week-end. Families that have spent three or four days together are breaking up and heading home. it will be 364 day before we have to endure this “gathering” again. But wait, do we really want to dive into the leftovers for one more meal of food from which we are all stuffed. “Yes!” Let’s do, shout the cooks, “No!” “Let’s don’t and say we did,” shout the cleaners who have finally gotten all the food put away and all the dishes clean and stored.

I submit that Thanksgiving is a year round activity. We just need to focus on where everything  that is good in life comes from, all the people who are part of our family and friends circle, and all those who have or are contributing to our life.

Every day ought to begin with a “thank you,” to our Father of Light and Life who is providing another day, another heartbeat, another breath, another opportunity to walk through this World sharing the Good News by our words and actions.

Every day may bring with it the opportunity to share with family and friends the llove that we have for them and the hope and victory that can be experienced by those who choose to be thankful for life, obedient to Truth, and committed to the family of God.

Everyday must be seen as a gift, every person we know as a treasure, and every personal encounter an opportunity to demonstrate the llove of God.

The Holiday is gone till next year. A thankful heart endures for those who choose it to be so.
