Thought For The Day

The Daffodils Are Gone

Outside our dining room window, along the fence line, there are a string of daffodils. They began to bloom near the end of February, and the blooms are now almost gone. They don’t last long in their blooming stage, but come back each year to help end Winter and begin Spring. They are among the most beautiful flowers, and always an encouragement to find joy in the changing seasons

When I think about about that it reminds me, in one way, of the “troubles” that come our way. during the course of time. Most of those issues, over which we fret, are gone before they damage us too much. Doing the right thing, following the leadership of the Spirit of God in us, and enduring with patience, brings peace in due time. Mistaking to “trust and obey” sometime extends the length of the trouble, or allows it to damage us for a longer season. Wait long enough, and issues easily overcome our desire to live as God intended for every Believer.

I am reminded of so many people who have chosen to ignore the Spirit’s leadership in practicing the disciplines of llove, and instead hold on to anger, hurts, choices poorly handled, and ignorance (meaning = I don’t know) of the Truth.

Remember the daffodils. The blooms are short-lived, and the plants grow, and spread, and become more beautiful every year.
