Thought For The Day

The Election

What’s at stake? Everything! Neither candidate for President of the United States possesses the requisite characteristics for God’s leaders. The truth is, intelligent people who know the character of both candidates, cannot in good conscience recommend either candidate as a leader, especially the leader that the United States of America needs during these trouble times.

We are bereft of any hope that America will not stumble and fall with the election of either candidate. There are those who would push the “minor party” candidates, but we know that neither of them will receive enough votes to make even a significant dent on the Republican/Democrat vote grab.

So what are we to do? What is right for the Believer?

First, know that God is Sovereign. He is still in control of every Nation (including this one), every leader, every organization and operation, and nothing escapes His notice, involvement, or power.

Second, God will care for His people. Never believe that His people will not hurt, or suffer, or know tragedy, that their lives will not be affected by the events on the World stage. Rather, be willing to understand that His llove is greater than all the evil men can do, and nothing, I repeat, NOTHING can separate us from it. (See Romans 8:28ff)

Third, one candidate will lead us down the same path we have been going down for the past eight years. . .and longer. Not much, if anything will change for good, and the probability that any change that does come will continue the  downward spiral toward our total destruction at worst, and becoming a “third World” Country at best, is extremely high.

The other candidate is just an unknown factor. He may totally “blow up” the current Government processes. That would be good in my opinion.  Business as usual will be gone. “Seat of the pants” decisions will rule, and anything is possible. Some changes will be good. Some will be scary. Some will provide the possibility that our Nation might survive a few more years as the the only Democracy in history to last more than approximately 200 years. I am convinced that some of our National immorality may come to an end, and the absolute destruction of our society by means of “diversity” may be dramatically slowed.

Four, one thing is for dead sure. Whomever God has chosen to take us through the next four years will be elected. He has not abandoned those who are His. Our place in this is being on the winning or losing side of this election. Our champion is the Savior. He will rule, as always, forever. Make sure you are on the “right” side – HIS!!

Amen…I understand your seat of the pants…but I am not sure the opposite (BUREAUCRACY) is the answer and that is what we are shackled with today. The Legislative process is not much better either, The unintended (or at least they say) are typically more burdensome than what the law was trying to fix….
