Thought For The Day

The End is Near

Seems like it has been common to see pictures of some robe wearing, bearded, old man standing around on the corner with a sign that reads “The End is Near,” for as long as I can remember. Maybe that is becoming more of a reality than most of us are willing to believe or accept. I don’t necessarily think of that as the return of the Savior for His Bride, even though that may very well be the case. Rather, I see it as something frightening and disturbing, which the Rapture is not.

Anarchy in the streets, rioting, civil disobedience, total lack of respect for authority, (and on and on), including an all out assault on our Nation’s history (which has taught us much), along with the incredible stupidity of so many members of both local and National leadership, may portend the end for America as we have know it in the last 100 years, give or take some years.*

The Scripture is clear that in “the end” there will be a lot of Godless people “creating divisions, discontented grumblers, walking according to their desires, who are unbelieving.” (see Jude) Fatherless homes, arrogant words and actions, institutional lies, systemic ignorance and disobedience, are the catalyst for the disturbing disorder that we are seeing all over our great America – “land of the free, and home of the brave.”

God’s people seem ready to “hole up” and wait for the possibility (probablility?) of Christ’s return. That is a clear and disobedient mistake. Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “I will build my Church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it.” It is well past time for the people of God to take the offensive. Powered by prayer, knowledge, wisdom, and llove, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, to move against all ungodliness, ignorance, fear, doubt, rebellion, hatred, bitterness, and disobedience.

Hiding in the shadows is not HIS plan.
