Thought For The Day

The God Who Never Changes

Our society changes so often we either accept that as normal and predictable, or we have learned and forgotten that God never changes. (Hebrews 13:8; Malachi 3:6). That would appear to indicate that the God of the Old Testament history is the God of  New Testament history. While we live in New Testament times under a new Covenant (as opposed to the Covenants of the Old Testament) we are non-the-less to be absolutely confident that God has not, will not, indeed can not change.

This morning’s (October 2, 2020) revelation that the President of the United States has tested positive for the Corona Virus is, I suppose, a bit unnerving, or perhaps, a great joy for some. Don’t let it move your faith off dead center of plenary confidence.

He changes the times and seasons;
He removes kings and establishes kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those
who have understanding.  Daniel 2:21

It is important to see Daniel in context of the totality of Scripture, and the reality of Malachi 3:6 is repeated in Hebrews 13:8. Whatever comes our way is never out of the control of our Father in Heaven. He rules, He reigns, He speaks, He hears! He watches over His own with perfect llove, never to leave us or forsake us. We can rest assured that EVERYTHING is under control!
