Thought For The Day

The Ice is Melting

If one listens to the latest information being shared by Scientists, Antarctica will soon be gone. The ice is melting due to global warming, and at the current rate it will not be long before the Oceans will be absorbing all that water.

WASHINGTON — The melting of Antarctica is accelerating at an alarming rate, with about 3 trillion tons of ice disappearing since 1992, an international team of ice experts said in a new study. “I think we should be worried,” said University of California Irvine’s Isabella Velicogna, one of 88 co-authors. “Things are happening. They are happening faster than we expected.” Part of West Antarctica, where most of the melting occurred, “is in a state of collapse,” said co-author Ian Joughin of the University of Washington. (TIME)

I guess I will put that on my “concern list,” but it is going to be pretty far from the top. I agree with two statements made by these authors. . .only not for the same problem.

First, I do “think we should be worried.” The decline of our Nation which is triggered by so many violations of God’s design, “is happening faster than we expected.” Immorality increases at a rate which is to fast to measure. Multiculturalism is quickly changing the face of America, and, as always, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. America’s political wars grow increasingly stringent every year. It seems these things should take priority over melting ice.

Secondly, while part of Antarctica may be “in a state of collapse,” I am much more concerned regarding the  collapse of American society as we have known it. Christianity, the foundation on which our American society is built, is under attack on every hand. Biblical Truth is compared to “hate speech.” God’s design for men’s and women’s roles are regarded as politically incorrect. Scripturally counseling forgiveness and restoration, which keeps families together and makes them healthy, is touted as criminal behavior. Many Churches have refocused from Worship and building Spiritual maturity, to meeting “felt needs” and embracing “worldly” behavior.

I am increasingly concerned regarding the speed of that coming collapse!
