Thought For The Day

The Lost Opportunity

The adage is, Opportunity knocks only once. The truth is, Opportunity knocks often. God is the author of multiple opportunities to come to faith in Christ, to grow to maturity, to minister to His family – the Church, and to find joy and peace in the journey we share through this life.

On the other hand, we tend to be those who squander opportunity as if there were an infinite number of reasons why we should. Finding procrastination a virtue, we sometimes wander through life without sufficient concentration on knowledge and wisdom. Opportunity is the last hope we have to turn our lives in the right direction. Avoiding the process in capturing opportunity and/or failing to develop a desire to succeed in achieving a spiritual maturity is both foolish and wasteful.

A clear proclamation of the Gospel gives one opportunity to find redemption and a functioning Body of Christ provides opportunity for Spiritual growth and ministry.

Avoid the temptation to avoid either.

Even if it is rainy outside? Sorry 🙁
I did read an email (before Church Started on Sunday) and one of our supervisors was bragging on his personnel for the extraordinary work they had performed (a very gross action without a word of complaint). As I was reading this it was clear that people had (apparently) stayed home due to the “rain.”
