The Question

I heard the question at lunch today. I understand it was primarily a rhetorical question, but it deserves an answer, and I am sure I do not know that answer.

How did our Nation (the United States of America) fall so far so fast? I suppose many would make an argument that it has not fallen at all, rather, our Nation is evolving logically toward finally taking on the real issues of life and coming down on the side of a just “equality.” Hummmm. Really?

I know that part of the answer is that this is not a question of equality. It is a question of morality, and that  point is bound up in the reality of Truth and Truth’s author, the Lord God of Heaven and Earth. Abortion (and its now known barbaric practice of harvesting baby body parts for profit), homosexuality, gender identification (transformation, nullification, and consternation), same-sex marriage, multiculturalism, political correctness, and political expediency, along with an unparalleled quest for financial gain and universal reciprocity, are, perhaps, the most prominent matters that are involved in our fall from “one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,”  to a divided, factious people with intent to remove every vestige of rational, not to mention Biblical, morality.

I know that part of the answer is that this is a question of equality. By that I mean, a significant number of people, especially those who hold the reins of power and the Press, do have an equality problem – they want to be equal with God. Since they seems to recognize that is not “in the cards” (check out the Biblical narrative of one who decided to be equal with God – Isaiah 14:12ff), they choose to usurp His authority and destroy as much righteousness as possible in as short a time frame as attainable.

I know there are other components to the answer as well. It’s hard for the Church (God’s chosen leaders and teachers of Truth) to remain viable when a crucial portion of that “Church” is lost in its own misunderstanding of, or worse, distortion of, the Truth.

Perhaps we (or I) should just relax a bit. It is “probably” more likely that God will intervene on the World Stage prior to this Nation becoming another third World abyss of depravity rather than allowing His people to suffer through that. Then again, maybe not.
