Thought For The Day

This One is Over

Tomorrow I will board a jet for DFW. This brief vacation is over. I saw a lot of stuff I have seen before (because I wanted to), and several  things I have never seen before. I am wiser and more knowledgable because of these last few days. I haven’t worked (physically) for five days (with one to go) and I do feel a bit more rested.

I knew this day would come. The day that this “thing” I had coveted (time with one of my sons), the time away from my day to day grind, the final mental preparation to return to my place of residence and work, is here. One anticipates such things as vacation, travel, free time, sightseeing, relaxing, etc., with the understanding that it will end all too soon. It is as if this day (the last) is always happening and the beginning day never really happened.

But here is the good news! Really good news!! A day is coming that will be the “end all” of wonderful beginnings and it will NEVER end. I don’t know exactly how it will happen (a shout, a trumpet, a bursting sky, and other things perhaps) but Christ will come for His Church, His family, His redeemed, His children, and we will be with Him in that place He has prepared for us FOREVER. We will never return to struggling with the Enemy, dealing with the vagaries of life, or the pain and sorrow of so many of life’s trials.

If you have not prepared for that journey, today is the day to do so. . .this is the time. Some folks are warning us that the time to prepare is short (of course Scripture has always made that clear) and if you are planning on going there are some prerequisites that need attention.

If it’s not settled for you, find a Church near you where the Gospel is clear and the message is plain – “You must be born again.” (John 3:1-21)
