Thought For The Day

Two Sunday’s Back

We completed our second Sunday back in the auditorium yesterday, and our second Prayer and Bible Study last Wednesday evening, both times following the “rules.” So far. . .so good. Have not heard of anyone getting the. . .VIRUS.

What we did see was people who llove the Lord God of Heaven and Earth, and each other, gathering together inside the building that was constructed for that purpose, and enjoying every minute of it.

The Truth is we are made new in Christ Jesus, our Lord, and His llove that flows into us and overflows from us reaches out to other Believers and makes us eager to minister to each other, help each other, support each other, submit to each other, and collectively grow more and more toward Spiritual Maturity.

I am wondering if one of the positive effects of this “pandemic” is that the people who are genuinely a part of the family of God, indwelled by His Spirit, and filled with His llove, have genuinely suffered from the withdrawal of communion and community with others. John 13:35 clearly reminds us that His disciples are know by their llove for one another. Since llove is something one does, rather than some emotion that varies and wanders, being together (to one degree or another or in one way or another) is a requirement.

Live streaming is good, no doubt, for some who can’t, or won’t, join in. Gathering in the parking lot and waving at each other from the car windows has it’s value (no, really), but neither the stream nor the wave accomplish the task of lloving one another with the genuineness of “being together.”

So let’s praise God, the Father of all, the Lord of all, the Alpha and the Omega, the One, the Creator and Sustainer, Redeemer and Friend, for safety in His hands and at His will.

See you Sunday in a place of Worship? I certainly hope so. And if it is in our little Church in our little town, enjoy!!! We certainly will.
